Sentara Cancer Network brings together specialized and sub-specialized physicians and clinicians and gives them access to advanced technology, research and each other - a powerful combination in the fight against cancer. For head and neck specifically, Sentara partners with Eastern Virginia Medical School to further advance available treatments.
Our board-certified, fellowship-trained physicians are uniquely qualified to perform microvascular reconstructive surgery for head and neck cancer patients. The technology and capabilities at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital make it possible for EVMS surgeons to perform transoral robotic surgery (TORS), the first in Virginia, and advanced treatment options — including the DaVinci minimally invasive and CyberKnife radiotherapy robotic surgery systems — provide a level of precision available in this region only at the Sentara EVMS Comprehensive Head and Neck Center.
