Gary R. Zeevi, M.D. is a member of the advanced heart failure and transplant service for Sentara Norfolk General and in this presentation he discusses the field of Cardio-Oncology. Cardio-Oncology also known as Onco-Cardiology is a collaboration between cardiologists and oncologists to prevent or treat heart failure in cancer patients. Dr Zeevi discusses a trend of increased occurrences of cardiovascular disease in cancer patients who have undergone high dose chemotherapy. Complications of cancer therapy can lead to Cardiac Dysfunction, Arrhythmia, Atherosclerosis and Reno-vascular disease.
