Andrew Vanslyke, MD, a survivor of head and neck cancer, shares is personal experiences with oral cancer from the perspective of a patient and a psychiatrist. Dr. Slyke also reviews the elements of the psychological and social impact of diagnosis, treatment and recovery in the head and neck cancer patient and presents and overview of common psychiatric problems. In addition, Dr. Slyke discusses the considerations in the management of psychosocial aspects of the head and neck cancer patient's care.
